The Annual Food and Wine Event hosted by the Contra Costa College Culinary
Arts Department offers a delicious diversion from local restaurants, fine wines, artisan chocolates and old fashioned food entertainment. The said event includes a spirited live auction, a designer cake walk, tree of abundance and gourmet mystery bags to name a few. The silent auction which is one of the event’s hit will offer an array of unique beverages, adventures, dining and culinary accessories including artist designed chef coats and chef uniforms.
The event funds study abroad scholarships sending promising culinary students on a two week educational tour to Europe or Asia, beginning with a concentrated week of training in a local culinary academy. Previous settings for the study abroad scholarships included a tour in China with Chef Martin Yan and a two week educational journey in Italy’s prestigious Marco Polo Culinary Institute in Parma.
The remaining proceeds support the Culinary Arts Management Department of Contra Costa College to help students from diverse backgrounds with high quality, professional vocational training in preparation for exciting careers in restaurants, hotels, resorts, bakeries and related culinary fields.
