Contra Costa serves a diverse range of students with a wide array of backgrounds. Some come directly from high school, while others are career changers or reentering the work force. What they have in common is a passion for food, drive, work ethic and dreams. Many have worked in restaurants before enrolling in the school and not only do most continue to work in professional kitchens during their study, but the school offers course credit.
In additional to offsite jobs, Contra Costa Culinary students work in the Three Seasons restaurant and participate in on and off campus catering events.
The Contra Costa College Food and Wine Event not only supports the running costs of these students’ culinary education, but allows the best among them to participate in a fully paid educational tour with school abroad.
